Statistics show that nationwide, things are looking up for Americans. I can see it in my own community. People have work and they are out doing things. Those are the best indicators in my opinion.
Every morning I go to the gym, climb on the Elliptical machine and start ‘news’ surfing. I flip back and forth between local news, FOX News, CNN and sometimes MSNBC. They all seem to believe the economy is getting better as well. Some think it’s stronger than others but hey, at least it’s improving.
No surprise that every politician, no matter what side of the aisle they are on, takes credit for the betterment of our economic indicators. As many people in the south often say, “I’m calling BS on that.” I do not believe for a minute there is a politician in this country who can truthfully take credit for doing anything in the last 5 years that has helped our national economy.
I’d like to say thank you to Americans. There are over 24 million small business owners in the USA. They are tired of feeling like their government has not only kept them down but ‘ground’ them down. Our free market system works and it has reared it’s head and said, “Not any more! I will succeed in spite of your attempts to squelch my success.”
You might be thinking that the majority of small business owners only employ a few workers. Most of those at a low pay grade. That doesn’t make much difference in the national economy. It makes a huge difference to the family of that one person I may hire. If there are 24 million “me’s”, that is an overwhelming difference in the national economy.
I am tired of feeling like my country’s leaders don’t want me to succeed. It’s obvious to me that many others are feeling the same way. So again, thank you to my fellow Americans who are determined to succeed regardless of what Congress and the White House want to do to us.
